Q: How much does the driver make?
A: The driver receives 85% of the fee.
Q: Why should I drive for 10mileMover instead of a different rideshare company?
A: With 10mileMover you can be your own boss and work pretty good hours and make decent money. Most people don’t move or buy things late at night, so we typically do not operate past 8 PM. Also, most people tend to shop close to home. We try to keep you in your local area. This gives you a good base price for delivery without driving long distances.
Q: Is fuel supplied?
A: No, fuel is not supplied. You are operating as an independent contractor which allows for some things to be tax deductible. Keep track of your miles and check with your tax advisor.
Q: Will I get taxed on the income?
A: Yes, as a driver for 10mileMover, you are an independent contractor and will receive a 1099 tax form on the income. This should also make some expenses tax deductible. Consult with your tax advisor.
Q: Will my truck be covered by insurance?
A: Yes, your truck is covered from the point of pick up until you drop off the items. You are covered from curb to curb. Once you drop off the items, then you are back on your own insurance.
Q: What equipment will I need?
A: Aside from your pickup truck or cargo van, you will need 4 moving blankets, 4 ratcheting tie-down straps, and a furniture cart. Nice to have but not required: stretch wrap, cardboard boxes, packaging tape, permanent markers.
Q: Can I take a passenger with the load?
A: No, our insurance covers you during the delivery of the items only, and does not cover passengers.
